Balyna Super Soccer Game Figures
I am very interested in hearing from anyone who recalls the original Balyna Super Soccer magnetic and non-magnetic games from the 1950s and 60s 'Outdoor games played indoors'.
I have acquired a large collection of hand painted teams but all are on the non-magnetic discs. I am not sure of the various combinations of sets and players that were available over the years. All help appreciated using the contact links on the side menu. Now back to sorting through 200 hand painted teams - pure bliss!
Here are just a few of the 200+ teams that I now own - I'll be forever intrigued about who spent their time painting all these teams - whoever it was, thank you!
Boca Juniors
Middlesborough or better still the mighty Woking from the mid-1970s.
A guide to the types of Balyna and Super Soccer figures and bases
There are two types of figures - the flattish small white figures and the larger kicking figures. Both were found on magnetic and non magnetic bases.
The kicking figure pose was recast several times - there is a very rough, thin version, a better cast of that pose and then the much better quality later version
And the bases and undersides
Non magnetic bases had colour coded plastic paddles to move the figures around the pitch. The magnetic bases had the long rods to use under the pitch.
Bristol Rovers
Bulgaria
Dukla Prague (away of course!)
Ecuador
And one of several mystery team kits - any ideas?
